Are you coming to Amsterdam and want to find out how much money you need if you are planning on eating in McDonald’s and Burger King everyday? Or are you just trying to find out whether or not the Netherlands is an expensive country? We are located in the Netherlands, and unfortunately, love the taste of both Big Mac and Whopper hamburgers. So, we are writing this article and giving you this information based on our own experience and testing.
We could, of course, include information about the prices of other hamburgers as well, but our experience tells us that based on the price of a Big Mac in McDonalds or a Whopper in Burger King, you can mostly guess and find out approximately the prices of the other products they sell in the same restaurants.
What is the price of a Big Mac in the Netherlands.
Most people who go to McDonald’s buy a menu and not just a hamburger. But, to help you out, we have checked the prices of both the normal hamburger and also the menu.
- Big Mac Hamburger price: €5.75
- Big Mac Menu price (with fries and drink): €10.95
These are the normal prices. If you pay €1 more, you will get a bigger menu with more fries and with a larger drink. It is very frequent that the restaurant has special discount coupons where you can buy Big Mac and other burgers at a cheaper cost. But, if you just enter a restaurant and buy a Big Mac hamburger or a full menu, these are the prices you should expect.
What is the price of a Whopper in the Netherlands?
Are you a fan of Burger King? Do you find Burger King to have more crispy vegetables, or a nicer dressing in their burgers? Or is it time to change from McDonald’s to Burger King? Is it cheaper to eat in Burger King than in McDonalds? Here you have the prices of a normal hamburger and of a Whopper Menu in Burger King in the Netherlands.
- Whopper hamburger price: €7.95
- Whopper menu price (with fries and drink): €11.95
As you can see from the prices above, it isn’t cheaper to eat in Burger King, but it isn’t necessarily much more expensive either. Do not forget that the Burger King application has lots of additional discounts which can make your meal much cheaper compared to using the prices of the normal menu. At the time of writing, you can actually get two Whopper Medium menu’s for less than €13 using a coupon available in the Burger King application. Then it suddenly feels much cheaper, doesn’t it?
In other words, if you are looking to save money on your orders and make your meal in McDonald’s or Burger King even cheaper, use the applications they provide and the coupons to save quite a lot of omney.
Are McDonald’s and Burger King considered cheap restaurants in the Netherlands?
If you plan on eating out in the Netherlands, you will almost for sure spend more if you visit a local restaurant compared to McDonald’s or Burger King? Why is that? If you go to Domino Pizza, you might be able to find a pizza that costs the same as the Big Mac menu in McDonald’s. But, then you have only ordered the pizza, and there is no side dish, nor anything to drink included. And when you add the drink, then it will become more expensive, quickly. And then, Domino Pizza isn’t an expensive restaurant either.
As a result, McDonald’s and Burger King are considered to be cheap restaurants in the Netherlands, especially due to the fact that you get your hamburger, side-dish, and a drink included when you buy a menu that normally costs less than any of the main courses you are presened with in a normal restaurant.
How many McDonald’s and Burger King restaurants will I find in Amsterdam?
Are you coming to Amsterdam? You do not need to worry about whether you will find a McDonald’s or a Burger King nearby. There are plenty of them, and you can find them almost anywhere. The first opened in 1971, and it was interesting that the chain struggled in the start as it wasn’t used to focusing on customers coming by bike. That has changed since then, and you can now find lots of successful McDonald’s restaurant all across the country, whereof 17 are located in Amsterdam.
Burger King launched 10 years after McDonald’s in the Netherlands (1981), and now there are more than 60 restaurants in Netherlands. The largest concentration is found in Amsterdam where visitors can digest their Whopper hamburgers in eight different restaurants.
